Our mission as a theater company is to inspire, nurture, challenge, educate, and empower artists and audiences in St. Louis to achieve the highest level of cultural excellence while providing unparalleled entertainment.

Aesthetic Statement

MWTC will provide a base for professional performers, writers, technicians, and other artists for performance opportunities, education, and outreach opportunities. We recognize theatre as a tool of entertainment but also recognize the power of theatre to promote societal and personal change by educating and emotionally connecting to audiences. We will instill in all people a respect and appreciation for this art form by communicating at the highest level of excellence and drawing on the strength of the cultural diversity of our community. We will explore the relationship between performance and audience giving all the chance to learn something about themselves and providing a platform to grow as a society. MWTC is most interested in theatre that explores contemporary issues in modern and historical works and will continue to legitimize itself as a vital artistic tool. We have committed ourselves to educate audiences and artists, to appreciate the assets that theatre has to offer, and to foster the voices of innovative, imaginative, contemporary, diverse playwrights while respecting the roots of its history.
